What is a Gift/Wedding Registry?

Say you are having an event such as a Birthday, Anniversary, Wedding, or any other special day.  People want to buy you gifts, but they are having a tough time picking something you will like.

To make life easy for your guests, you create a Gift Registry on our site and add all the products you wish to receive to this list.  Your guests will now have a place to visit and purchase the gifts you selected.  They will now know that their presents will not be re-gifted for somebody else.

Tulumba.com will do the rest for you by shipping these selected products to the address you designate.

 How I do create a Gift/Wedding Registry?

Login to your account and you will see "Gift/Wedding Registries" link on the left handside in your "Account information" page. Please click on Gift/Wedding Registries link. When you go to the "Create My New Registry" page, you will see the options below.  We will explain each field for you below:

Event Name*:  Choose the appropriate option from the drop down box
First Name1*:  These fields are important for other people to search for your event correctly.  Enter the name(s) of the person/people for which the event is being organized.
Last Name1:  
First Name2:  
Last Name2:  
Description*:  A good description for your event.  For example 'Our 10th Wedding Anniversary'
Registry Start Date*:  This is the date when your guests will be able to start viewing your registry and we will start mailing their orders
Registry End Date*:  This is the last day when your guests will be able to view this registry and we will stop mailing your orders 
Event Date*:  The date your event is held.  This is important for the search function
Email*:  Enter the email address you wish your guests to use when they search for your registry.  This can be the same email address as your tulumba account or another email.   This email is for seach purposes and it will not be used for any other purpose.
Allow any user to access & Access Code :  If you uncheck the 'allow any user to access' checkbox above, then you will need to set an 'access code' for your Gift/Wedding Registry and distribute this code to your friends. They will have to enter this code to access your list. You can use any type of word / number sequence (up to 10 characters) to set as a code.
Hide purchase from invitees: If you check this box, your guests will not be able to see how many of the products you requested have been purchased.  We recommend that you leave this unchecked.
Current:  If you have multiple registries in your profile, you must select one of them as the Current registry.  The one you select as the Current registry is the one you will see on the product pages with the option 'Add to Gift Registry'.  If you are managing multiple registry at the same time, you can come back here and modifty one to be the Current registry.

ADDRESS: This is critical. You must select the address where you want all your gifts to be shipped.  Your guests can not change that and you can pick one address per gift registry.  If the address you wish is not here, please pick any address.  Then go to Your Account page, create a new shipping address, come back to your registry and modify it using the new shipping address.

 How do I add products to My Gift/Wedding Registry?

After you  create the registry, you can browse our site and pick the products you like.  After you create a registry, you will notice the [Add Product to Gift Registry] button on every product page.  After you add the products, you will have the option to go to your registry and modify the quantities or remove some products.

Please note that you need to be logged-in with your user name and password in order to add products to your Gift Registry.

 How do my guests know where to go for shopping?

After you create a registry for your event and add all the products you wish to receive as gift, you inform your guests either via email, as a note on your invitations, or word of mouth that they need to visit tulumba.com to locate their gift registry for this event.   You tell your guests that they can search for your event either by your last name, or you can provide them with the email address you used for this registry.  Very important:  If you used an access code for viewing your registry, you need to provide this code to your guests as well.

 What happens when my guests purchase the products I selected?

When your guests purchase the products you selected, we update your list so that the next guest knows what is needed and what is no longer available.  We also ship the products to your address immediately, as long as the products are in stock.  If the product(s) is not in stock, we ship it as soon as it becomes available.
