Overview: Notes From Planet Earth is a makeshift compilation of some of Chris de Burgh's classic hits as well as some of his later pieces. The bigger singles are represented by "The Lady in Red," "Don't Pay the Ferryman," and "High on Emotion," with minor hits such as "Say Goodbye to It All," "Sailing Away," and "Ship to Shore" making up the bulk of his older material. A new version of "Missing You" appears here, as well as a 1989 rendition of "A Spaceman Came Traveling" when the original would have sufficed. A remixed arrangement of "I Want It (And I Want It Now)" featuring DJ Cue Ball is an obvious effort at trying to get in touch with the time period in which this compilation was released from de Burgh, but it just seems out of place and inappropriately out of context since his audience has been and always will be made up of the 40-plus crowd. Even 2000's rendition of the famed "Patricia the Stripper" fails to embody the same magic as the original. Notes From Planet Earth is a disappointing representation of Chris de Burgh's material, first because of the lack of heavy-hitters and secondly because of the altered versions of some of his best work. The Canadian pressing of Notes From Planet Earth contains French versions of "When I Think of You" and "Heart of a Woman" and also contains the original "Patricia the Stripper," while excluding "Fatal Hesitation." A better assembly of de Burgh's material was released a year prior to this album: a two-disc set entitled The Ultimate Collection.

I thank you very much for the quality and the speedy delivery of the goods. I have been a customer perhaps the last three years, and each time the food stuff I received were well packaged, fresh and original. I will not forget your response two years ago to my request for some Maras and Gaziantep pul biber all the way from Turkey. In 10 days, I was able to order and get these non-catalog items from you at very reasonable prices. This was really extraordinary. Cok, cok, tesekkur ederim! BRAVO and keep up the good work. You are a very good representative of Türkler ve Türkiye. Saygilarimla,
