We Rap More Mellow [Maxi Version] - 9:33 (Younger Generation)
Ya Mama - 7:51 (Ticket, Wuf)
Overview: The post-discopre-house clearing-house compilation set that destroys all competitors, Unidisc's Star Funk goes so deep that even fanatics of the era in question will only find a cut or two worth keeping on each volume. The 17th volume does contain Fonda Rae and Wish's "Touch Me" (later a bigger hit for Cathy Dennis), Toney Lee's "Love So Deep," the Duncan Sisters' "Boys Will Be Boys," and Sunbelt's "Spin It," and a few songs are curiosities in some respect, but there's far too much third-rate fluff to make this anything more than a middling affair. Hats off to "Unidisc" for putting forth the effort in digging up all of these forgotten (or never known to begin with) singles, but they've taken obscurantism too far.
